Welcome from Leon R. Harris III, Attorney at Law, in Bakersfield, CA

I've been a licensed attorney at law here in the State of California since December of 1983.   The most recent direction that I have "headed towards" - in terms of my current legal practice "focus" - involves estate planning, administration, and probate litigation - as I became a "Member of WealthCounsel" (which is a National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys) back in 2011, but my previous "standard work regimen" was directed towards both a general civil and criminal practice of law - including:  administrative and appellate review, bench trials, business litigation, bankruptcy, contracts, disability retirement, domestic relations (or "family law"), employment, jury trials, labor, law and motion, oil and gas, personal injury, product liability, real property, unlawful detainer (or "landlord-tenant"), and workers' compensation.

In terms of administrative hearings, this previously involved the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, the Kern County Employees' Retirement Association/Board of Retirement, and the State of California/Personnel Board, but later in time may be better defined as involving a larger number of work assignments before the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), Board of Parole Hearings (BPH), and Board of Prison Terms (BPT) - specifically in terms of the following types of hearings:  Life Parole Consideration, Medical Parole, Parole Revocation, Probable Cause, Sexually Violent Predators (SVP), Mentally Disordered Offenders (MDO), Extended Terms, and Serious Offenders - in addition to follow-up attorney service of process concerning inmate/parolee screening offers, and the later signing of both general and/or special conditions of parole (or later separately handled ones - such as a "refusal" or "failure to" execute/acknowledge same).
